Some 34 staff are working their way to already becoming the Council’s superpower – would you like to be added to this great opportunity?
The programme will help you learn how to apply your desire to improve the impact you have at work, to develop the leaders of the future within our sector and support their potential to achieve for the people of our borough.
Time to LEAD! involves a range of formal and informal activities designed to include leadership training, opportunities to work on innovation and with external partners.
You don’t need to have specific qualifications or experience. You just need to apply and show your passion, willingness to work hard, and explain why you want to be considered.
The Time to LEAD! Programme is an opportunity for committed and enthusiastic staff to take part in courses and activities designed to develop their skills. Some thirty four staff have already commenced their training, forming Cohorts 1 to 3.
No previous management experience is required, and you are welcome to apply for a place on the programme irrespective of your role and how long you have worked for the council.
The programme has several fixed elements that you must complete:
Introduction to Leadership and Management – four days
Work Placement – various durations
Innovation Challenge – various durations
We are looking for people to bring an open mind, willingness to learn and a can-do attitude into the programme. You must be prepared to work as a member of a team and be flexible in the approach you take to solving problems.
As full attendance is required to complete the programme, please consider the fixed dates that have been set before you submit your application.
You must be available for the following fixed dates:
31 May 2022, 10am – 12pm
21 and 22 June 2022, 9am – 5pm
27 and 28 June 2022, 9am – 5pm
12 July 2022, 9am – 5pm
20 September 2022 9.30am – 3pm
We are keen to hear about why you want to join the scheme and what you will bring to the group. Your application can be in the format that you are most comfortable with. This could include a traditional form or letter of application, or be something more creative like a video, PowerPoint presentation or audio file.
